Mission Accomplished!

You all know the news by now. Bob Casey trounced Santorum with 59% of the vote.

This has been a long time coming. Best of luck to Rick as he begins his transition to private life.

Our sincere congratualtions to Senator-elect Bob Casey. As you settle into a six-year term, please don’t forget the energy of today and the demand for a change from business as usual that propelled you to victory. I really don’t have the energy for a DumpCasey.com site! (note to Casey team: register that domain if it’s available.)

I’d also like to thank “Piltdownman” and “Fred” for their posts on this site. It’s a lot more work than it looks like to maintain a blog, and they kept the site fresh and interesting during this campaign.

And, of course, I have to thank the voters of Pennsylvania who finally woke up and did the right thing.

As for me, I actually got myself elected here in the District of Columbia to a position called U.S. “Shadow” Representative. It’s an unpaid, city-wide elected position that is tasked with lobbying for statehood for the District of Columbia. You can read more about it in the Washington Post.

Thanks for making this blog - and the election - a huge success!

Hopefully I Can Shut Down this Site Tomorrow!

I’ve been running a dumpsantorum.com site since late 1999. Here’s a screen shot of what it used to look like:

I thought we could get rid of him back in 2000, but alas that was not the case and I needed to hang on to this domain for another six long years. Hopefully tomorrow I can let the registration for dumpsantorum.com expire and let the site die an honorable death and go where obsolete web sites go to die.

You can help me by GETTING OUT TO VOTE! Thanks for you support. Let’s take it the last mile!

Well, let’s hope so…And I leave you with this;

Vote Straight Republican…Not Crooked Republican!

More desperation by the Republicans

Keystone Politics has the lowdown on a “poll” being distributed which purport to show Santorum within 4% of Casey.

Legitimate polling puts Casey’s lead at three times that.

It’s message-sending time, people. We’re dumping him, so let’s make sure that this isn’t even close.

Top Senator Approval Rating!

We’re number 1!

Wait, maybe I’m looking at this the wrong way…

When you don’t have support, just make it up…

Kathryn Jean Lopez of the National Review makes up an endorsement of Santorum. And Santorum runs with it.

Ben Craw (aka “Midterm Roundup”) has the best take on it.

Casey Causes Cancer!

Posted in General on October 31st, 2006 by Piltdownman

According to a last minute missive released by the struggling Santorum campaign, Bob Casey, the Senator’s Democratic opponent, causes cancer.

“Believe me, I was as shocked as you are,” Santorum said, shaking his head in disbelief, “But people must understand just how dangerous it’ll be if they elect Bob Casey. It’s truly a matter of life or death!”

Santorum, known for his easy-going style on the stump, went on.

“We have information which the Casey camp has kept hidden and which is of vital importance to every voter in Pennsylvania. We can conclusively prove that, if you spend any amount of time around Bobby Casey, you’ll will most certainly develop one form or another of “The Big C.”

To bolster their claim, the Santorum campaign cited a little known research paper authored by the Penn Hills Cyber Research Group.

“This is a group of young people who have really done their homework,” Santorum said. “Their research is unassailable. I just pray that the voters get this important information in time for next week’s elections.”

At press time, the Casey campaign could not be reached for comment.

Santorum: Drifting, drifting….

Posted in General on October 31st, 2006 by Fred

Santorum slips further and further away from what it means to be conservative,

Besides the obviousness of the Christianist Republicans being against the limited government that Republicans have championed for many decades, Santorum appears to have drifted away from even sane debate anymore in his quest to demonize gays.

As a Catholic, he’s just plain embarrasing. He’s like having a brother who insists on telling nigger jokes.

Let’s not enable this guy anymore.

Santorum wants Casey put to death!

Or maybe just Santorum is an idiot, and forgot that accusing someone of “aiding and abetting the enemy” is a charge of treason.
